The School of Engineering Pian@ Series was built from a relationship between Anita Farrington, Associate Dean of Student Affairs at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, and Marilyn Nonken, PhD, Assistant Professor of Music and Music Professions at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. The program was created out of a desire to connect the two campuses and bring music to the School of Engineering faculty, staff, and students.
The series is made possible through the generous donation of the Yamaha baby grand piano, given by Allison Leary. The intimate performances are held one Monday per month in the lobby of the Dibner Building on the School of Engineering's Brooklyn campus.
December 15th is the first edition of "Poly Idol", in which SOE student piano players compete to win a prize, and are judged by Steinhardt professors and past Piano Series players.
To enter, send a short video clip of a piano performace to firstname.lastname@example.org.
