Located on the School of Engineering's Brooklyn campus, the Donald F. and Mildred Topp Othmer Residence Hall is a 20-story building, housing over 400 students in 2-bedroom suites and apartments. The residence includes student lounges, study rooms, laundry facilities, and outdoor space. You have the option of selecting a 2-bedroom suite or 2-bedroom apartment. Every suite and apartment comes fully furnished and houses a total of 4 students.

A typical suite includes:

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 1 bathroom
  • twin captain bed/dresser combo, desk, and wardrobe in each bedroom, for each student
  • *Select suites will have three bedrooms and two bathroom layouts.

A typical apartment includes:

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 1 bathroom
  • full kitchen
  • twin bed, dresser, desk, and wardrobe in each bedroom, for each student

Laundry Machines

Machines are located in the basement of the Othmer Residence Hall and are operated using a card system. Cards can be purchased from the VTM Value Adder Plus vending machine. To purchase a card, you must insert a $10.00 bill. The cost for the card is $5.00. A

new card will be dispensed with a $5.00 balance. Laundry cards do not expire and can be used from year to year.

Dining

As an on-campus resident, you'll be provided with a meal plan as an element of your housing costs (money is deducted from the meal plans on a debit system). Our dining hall (the Jasper Kane Cafeteria) is conveniently located in Rogers Hall — steps from home and class — and seats over 300. St. George Clark


All students residing at the St. George Clark have access to a cutting-edge, 8,300-square foot student community center located on the building’s main floor. Here you can make dinner with friends in our bistro kitchen, hold a study group in the library, watch a movie in the screening room, or play pool while catching a game on a flat screen TV. Furthermore, residents are eligible for a complimentary membership to the Eastern Athletic Club, located next door.

Room Styles

Triple

A triple occupancy living space furnished with either captain’s beds with drawers or beds with dressers, desks, desk chairs and wardrobes or a closet. A bathroom and refrigerator are also provided within the room. All residences except Marymount also have a television.

Lofted Triple

A triple occupancy living space furnished with loft beds, desks, desk chairs and wardrobes or a

closet. “Loft” style beds have desks underneath for efficient use of space. A bathroom and refrigerator are also provided within the room. All residences except Marymount also have a television.

Double

A double occupancy living space furnished with either captain’s beds with drawers or beds with dressers, desks, desk chairs and wardrobes or a closet. A bathroom and refrigerator are also provided within the room. All residences except Marymount also provide a television in each room.

Large Double

A larger version of a double occupancy living space furnished with either captain’s beds with drawers or beds with dressers, desks, desk chairs and wardrobes or a closet. A bathroom and refrigerator are also provided within the room. All residences except Marymount also provide a television in each room.

Safety
