What a Fujifilm X30 Camera Looks Like When You Tear It Apart


If you buy a Fujifilm X30 camera in a store, the salesperson will tell you about its short-lag electronic viewfinder. He will tell you that it's undergone a redesign since its previous incarnation, the X20. But he will not tell you the fun stuff: that it contains hundreds of prickly, mysterious parts, dozens of which are hellishly tiny screws and one of which is a capacitor that can still shock you even with the battery disconnected. Wilson Zhong, the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering student who helped us disassemble the X30, found all this out the hard way.
