NYU is movin' on up to the East Side -- and to Brooklyn and Governors Island.
The school has developed sprawling plans to expand beyond its Greenwich Village campus core.
"NYU's strategy for the first time is looking to develop as much outside our core and neighborhood as inside it, in such locations as Governors Island, downtown Brooklyn near NYU-Poly, and the health corridor on the East Side of Manhattan from the 20s to the 30s," said school spokesman John Beckman.
"Fully half of the space envisioned by the strategy between now and 2031 will be in locations other than in and around NYU's core."
Full details of the plan will be unveiled April 14 at an open house.
