Registration opens for cybersecurity games

Polytechnic Institute Tuesday announced the opening of registration for a competition designed to identify new cybersecurity talent.

NYU-Poly announced it has opened registration for its 6th Cyber Security Awareness Week games.

The annual event, created by the NYU-Poly Information Systems and Internet Security Lab, is part of an effort to identify individuals with cybersecurity capabilities that can help address evolving Internet-based threats to sensitive government and civilian networks.

According to a news release, the "goal of the games is to identify the next generation of cybersecurity stars who can fight the increasing threat to governments, business, institutions and individuals."

Officials say the initial challenges will be sent to participants in mid-September with awards scheduled for Nov. 13.
