Once a new faculty member signs the appointment letter, the Department Administrator can request an ID number (N#) and Net ID for the faculty member. The Department Administrator will forward the NET ID and N # to the new faculty member along with steps to activate. Once activated; the new faculty member goes to Public Safety at 2 MetroTech Center for a NYU Picture ID. (The N# and NET ID# are printed on the back of the NYU ID card.)

NYU Classes is NYU’s learning management system. This open-source learning management environment integrates a range of tools, such as Google Apps, to support teaching, learning, and scholarship. According to the policies established in your Department, faculty members are required to make course postings using the NYU Classes course management system. You are also required to post a copy of your course syllabus to your Classes site no later than two weeks before the beginning of the semester. For training on the NYU Classes course management system, please see the schedule of workshops at the School of Engineering’s Center for Faculty Innovations in Teaching and Learning.
To request an NYU email account as a new employee, please go to: start.nyu.edu. Activation is required to be listed in the on-line directory and for receiving NYU emails, etc. The NYU email account is not active until you activate it.
