This year the Convergence of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute, in its effort to make entrepreneurship more inclusive and diverse, is excited to start a series of events to help the NYU community to find the right Path in the Entrepreneurship journey.
To give it great start let's gather together and enjoy an afternoon with extraordinary women that will show us their own path to successful entrepreneurship. Let's get Inspired!

Following the panel, you are invited to enjoy a lunch and make some entrepreneur friends.

Our panelists:
Sarah Maibach, Program Manager at the Entrepreneurial Institute
Sarah is the Program Manager for the Entrepreneurial Institute where she builds technical programming and grows external partnerships. Prior to joining the Institute, Sarah worked at General Assembly and Stanford University. Sarah holds an M.A. in Comparative International Education from Columbia University.

Ya-El Mandel-Portnoy, Founder of Cardea Sciences
Ya-El holds a Master’s degree in Physiology and Biophysics from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Emergency Medical Services from Ben-Gurion University. Ya-El will graduate in early 2017 from the Clinical Research PhD program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and specializes in Cardiac Physiology and Electrophysiology. Prior to her academic career, Ya-El served as special forces paramedic in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for over 3 years.

Bertha Jimenez, Founder of Rise
Bertha Jimenez is the co-founder of RISE, a startup that turns organic industrial waste into value by converting it into raw materials. Currently focusing RISE on converting by-products of the beer and wine industry into food grade materials, Dr. Jimenez recently received her Ph.D. from NYU, where her doctoral thesis was entitled The Entrepreneurial Sandbox: The Role of Co-Curricular Programs on Nurturing Student Entrepreneurs.

She also holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (Guayaquil, Ecuador) and an M.S. in Engineering and Technology Management from Portland State University (Portland, USA).
