Saturday’s MakerDay:

MakerDay is about building something from scratch that day and getting it to work, taking it home, solving a problem, and being creative with science and skill. There might even be competition. We recommend you bring a laptop to code or do research on what youre building…and to play music.

Location: We will start in NYU Poly’s Dibner Building [6 Metrotech Center, Brooklyn] Room LC400. By 11am we will have moved to Poly’s Rogers Hall Rooms 202-204 & 214 [5 Metrotech Center]

Three options: come with an idea or without. Existing project? Bring it with you!

People: Work alone, bring friends or meet a team!

Breakdown: each room will have a challenge. There will be one room for independent work and API hacking. We’ll have snacks and lunch all day.

Companies that will be joining us: Mysocialcloud, MakerBot, and LunaBot (NASA sponsored team), Ordrin

Challenges for attendees to tackle:
  • Make the sturdiest furniture from cardboard
  • Build a windowfarm
  • Timed take apart and functional reassembly of a remote controlled airplane.
  • Coolest thing you can make with Indexhibit

Other options:

  • Build on AutoCAD and print with MakerBot
  • Hack on MySocialCloud’s code
