Music Freedom Day 2011

Academic

For NYU Community

Music is a human right. Yet in many countries — from Iran to China and Cameroon to Malaysia — the freedom to make music is curtailed by political and cultural forces. Join Austin Dacey, founder of The Impossible Music Sessions, to learn how musicians are using ingenuity and technology to fight censorship and repression. Featuring two special guests (names withheld on request) who were arrested and jailed by their government for playing in a rock band.
