NYC FIRST (For Inspiration and  Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO introduces 9 to 14 year-old students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete a variety tasks that simulate real-life technological challenges.

The theme “Body Forward” will help teams explore the cutting-edge world of biomedical engineering to discover innovative ways to repair injuries, overcome genetic predispositions, and maximize the body’s potential, with the intended purpose of leading happier healthier lives.

At the Brooklyn Qualifier all registered teams in the borough will bring their robots and research on the topic to compete to advance to the Citywide Championship held at the Jacob Javits Center in March.
