SPIKE (Skill-based Program for Incubator Knowledge and Employment) is a fellowship program designed to empower students with the knowledge and experience needed to thrive in startup and professional environments. The NYU Incubators and the Wasserman Center for Career Development at NYU launched the program in 2012.
This program aims to support the companies developing in the NYU Incubators while simultaneously providing an opportunity for students to learn the skills necessary to find employment after completing their studies. Students will be immersed in an entrepreneurial environment that will challenge their abilities and knowledge against real world problems. They will be directly impacting the outcome of the startups through diligent work while gaining new skills they would not otherwise be exposed to.
The incubators will match prospective Fellows to companies for Fellowships that include entrepreneurial education and exposure to the exciting world of technology startups. Applicants must be motivated, quick learners, detail oriented, organized, and flexible. Fellowship value is $2,000, divided into three payments. Prospective students must be in good academic standing and enrolled at NYU for 9 credits or less.
