Veteran Entrepreneurship Training (VET) Program

VET was designed for U.S. military veterans and spouses who want to transition into entrepreneurship after completing their service. Program participants learn from startup companies and industry leaders through hands-on experiential learning, mentorship, and capstone projects. Through the program’s business and technology training, participants are given the tools to turn aspirations into career opportunities and new ventures. Upon successful completion, graduates earn a VET Certificate from NYU Future Labs.

Application Requirements

Applicants must be U.S. military veterans, active servicemembers, or military spouses with demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and/or technology. A DD-214 or other proof of service may be requested.

Certificate Requirements

Participants seeking an VET Certificate must complete all coursework and the capstone project.

Each session of the 10-week program will include an in-class lecture on an entrepreneurial subject (e.g., product development, sales, accounting, legal), mentoring by subject matter experts, and startup team collaboration.

The program concludes with a Demo Day for the veteran venture teams to present their businesses to investors, government officials, and other program stakeholders.

Program Costs

Each student admitted into the program will be fully subsidized for all course fees.

Classes take place from 6 – 9 PM on Wednesdays. The courses will be held at the Digital Future Lab (20 Jay St., #312), where dinner will be provided each session.
