The Alumni Association is governed by an International Board of Directors consisting of 15 directors, plus the President of the Alumni Association who serves as chair of the board.

Directors have been vetted by the PAA Nominating Committee, then elected to three-year terms by Polytechnic alumni at Annual Meetings of the PAA ,and are intended to represent the global and other demographic characteristics of the alumni.

Anthony Concolino ‘82, President (term ending June 30, 2020)

Anthony F. Concolino '82 is a senior Information Technology executive with over 35 years of business, engineering and operations experience in the financial services industry. As a former Chief Operations Officer at Citi for Capital Markets, Banking and Corporate Technology Infrastructure, he led large global organizations in modernizing enterprise technology as part of a multi-billion dollar Cloud/IT transformation program. Earlier in his career he held global senior management positions at Reuters where he was instrumental in pioneering multiple generations of world-class financial information systems that revolutionized Wall Street. His innovative style earned him a reputation as an influential leader great at building relationships, strong with both strategy and execution. Most recently, his work has been devoted to Cloud, Cyber Security and Risk and has been an advisor for many startups and early growth-stage companies. While studying for his BSEE degree during the years 1978-82, Mr. Concolino held various Student Council elected positions including President and Treasurer and was a member of several committees. He is most proud to have worked alongside Dr. George Bugliarello during the formative years of the MetroTech vision and being honored with the Brooklyn Hall of Fame Award for Outstanding Student Leadership. Mr. Concolino and his wife have three grown children, two of whom graduated from NYU and one from Fordham University. Through his longstanding involvement with the Alumni Association, and as an NYU parent, he has watched the great progress made over the past three decades. As we enter a new era of transformational change that will bring the likes of driver-less vehicles, smart cities, privatized space travel, vast new infrastructure plus many more once unimaginable feats that rely on great engineering and innovation, he is eager to take the baton once again and serve as  President of NYU Tandon School of Engineering, Polytechnic Alumni Association.

 

Gerald Dawes ‘84 ‘89Immediate Past President (term ending June 30, 2019)

Mr. Gerald Dawes is currently a Director in the Business Ethics and Compliance Department (BEC) at Con Edison Company of New York. In this position, he is responsible for promoting ethics standards and guiding compliance with applicable laws. Previously, he served as a Director in Con Edison’s Construction department, where he managed all aspects of the company’s relationship with the New York City and New York State Department of Transportation – NYCDOT and NYSDOT respectively, and he also managed the Construction Contracts Administration, Computer Applications, and Technical Review departments.

Mr. Dawes has also held the position of Con Edison Executive on-loan with the American Gas Association (AGA), where he worked with the Operations and Engineering staff of the AGA on a wide range of federal and regional natural gas related initiatives. He also held various positions of increasing responsibility, including General Manager of the Queens Gas Operations department - where he was responsible for directing the operation and maintenance of the company’s natural gas distribution system in the borough of Queens, and other positions with the Corporate Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) department; the Distribution Engineering department; the Customer Service, Energy Management, Electric Operations and Electric Planning departments. He also served as an Assistant to the Chairman of Con Edison.

Throughout his professional career, Mr. Dawes has been recognized by various organizations for his outstanding company and community work. For example, he has been the recipient of Con Edison’s highest honor – the “Living Our Values” (LOV) award; and he has also received the Con Edison/YMCA “Black Achiever of the Year” award. He is an active member of the New York chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE – NYMAC) where he previously served as President and currently serves a member of the Executive Board. He also served as a member of the National Board of Directors for AABE (where he chaired the National Scholarship Committee).

He is a Trustee with New York University - Tandon School of Engineering (NYU-Poly), and is the current President of the Polytechnic Alumni Association (PIAA). He supports NYU-Poly in several ways including: mentor for several students, corporate recruiter, guest lecturer, and is actively involved with several projects aimed at increasing research funding for NYU-Poly such as street work coordination in New York City and natural gas leak detection and mitigation.

Mr. Dawes holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York and has attended advanced professional programs offered by the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), General Electric (GE), Power Technologies Incorporated (PTI), and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He has also participated as a volunteer with the National Urban League’s Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP) and, performs community service work with New York City FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).

Richard Migdalski ’08 ’10 EVP (Term ending June 30, 2020)

Richard Migdalski is a Senior Director & Human Resources Business Partner at AXA in the US. He currently provides strategic HR support to the Life Insurance and Employee Benefits businesses, including leadership coaching, talent management, organizational development, compensation strategy, and recruiting, among other human capital functions. 

Rich is a graduate of the Tandon School of Engineering at NYU (formerly Polytechnic University) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Technology Management (2008) and a Master’s in Organizational Behavior (2010).  As a student, Rich held many leadership positions including Captain of the Varsity Tennis Team, Assistant Coach of the Women’s Varsity Tennis Team, Work Study Supervisor for the Athletics Department, Peer Counselor Administrator,Graduate Assistant for Student Development and an active Brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha National Fraternity.

David Bomzer ’06 VP (Term ending June 30, 2020)

David Bomzer is Assistant Intellectual Property Counsel with Pratt & Whitney, a united Technologies company. There, David’s primary function is coordinating and executing strategies for protecting Pratt & Whitney’s intellectual property surrounding the Pure PowerTM commercial turbofan engine. Prior to joining the team at Pratt & Whitney, David was Counsel for Day Pitney, in the New York Office, where David counseled a variety of clients on issues relating to procuring and protecting intellectual property and coordinating the transfer of technology assets.
David also has experience as a shock analysis engineer for the Electric Boat Corporation, which designs and builds Nuclear Submarines for the Navy, a process design engineer for Pall Corporation and a structural design engineer for the commercial car carrier division of the Ryder Truck company. David has taught graduate and undergraduate mechanical and aerospace engineering courses at Polytech’s Brooklyn Campus, and at the New York Institute of Technology, at the Long Island Campus. David holds a JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, an MS and ME from Polytechnic, (Now NYU Tandon School of Engineering), and a BSAE from SUNY Buffalo.

Maria Carnicella Indovina ’08 Secretary (Term ending June 30, 2020)

 I wish to serve on the board so that I can give back to the Polytechnic community (Now NYU Tandon School of Engineering) which gave me so very much. As a business attorney, I am equipped to offer professional assistance to the board. My history of involvement with the university provides me a large network of alumni connections and a fondness for the people of the institution.

I am currently an associate attorney at Cohen & Grigsby law firm in Pittsburgh, PA. I practice in the areas of general business, international business and intellectual property law. I came to Cohen & Grigsby following law school at Penn State. Before law school, I spent two years working as a biomedical researcher at the National Disease Research Institute, where I managed an HIV/AIDS research program. I also spent a year at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center coordinating research studies.

I was an STS major with a focus in biomolecular science and a minor in Psychology. I was a varsity athlete and lettered in softball, basketball and volleyball. I was the starting pitcher on the softball team for two and a half years. At Poly I was also a resident assistant, was promoted to managing resident assistant and eventually also promoted to senior resident assistant. I formed, along with the help of two of my classmates, a Cardinal Newman Society, which is a Catholic student organization. In connection with that club I was involved in the Brooklyn Catholic community by way of a weekly cantering job at a Basilica in Bay Ridge. I worked for student athletics, participated in the emergency response planning team for the resident hall, sat on student advisory committees including on which hired the then dean of students.

Marisa Barbieri ’90 (term ending June 30, 2020)

Marisa S. Barbieri is a 1990 graduate of Polytechnic’s School of Engineering.  Currently, Marisa is founder and CEO of Competitive Solutions, Inc., a fast-growing healthcare information technology-consulting firm located in Westchester County, New York.  She sits on the Board of Trustees at Nyack Hospital, where she chairs the Board’s Technology committee.

Marisa’s career started after she graduated from Mercy College, where her father once served as Chair of the Language department, Fulbright Fellow, and Rhodes Scholar recipient.  After graduating from Mercy, Marisa went on to work in the computer department at Timeplex, then a manufacturer of network equipment.  Timeplex was a major supplier of equipment for Nynex, now AT&T.  At Timeplex, Marisa led a team of programmers to develop LinkDesign, a first-of-its-kind artificial intelligence tool for configuring Timeplex’s complex multiplexor line of products.  Together with IBM, Marisa unveiled LinkDesign, receiving multiple awards for her efforts.
Among the awards, the most valuable was an invitation by Timeplex’s owner to pursue her master’s degree at Polytechnic.  Without that opportunity, Marisa would not have dreamed of pursuing this degree, having grown up as the granddaughter of an immigrant family and the daughter of two teachers; her mother a graduate of the Julliard School of Music. Marisa is a passionate advocate of education and values the opportunity she was given. After years of work and dedication to both her family and her company, she wants to give back to Polytechnic. Her contributions in the field of computer science are now concentrated in the healthcare industry after years of working in both manufacturing and publishing.

Over the past 15 years, Marisa and her team have helped to innovate hospitals and health centers, implementing the latest in technology to improve patient safety and quality of care. Her greatest achievement has been advising the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene  on the nationally recognized electronic medical record implementation project. She and her team  also assisted the NYDOHMH in automating the women’s center at Riker’s Island. Marisa has led the transformation of many hospitals from paper to electronic medical records and continues to help hospitals in the Tri-State area advance using technological solutions.

Because of her steadfast belief in the school’s mission and her unwavering gratitude for her education, Marisa has repeatedly made it a priority to give back to Polytechnic (Now known as the NYU Tandon School of Engineering). She’s eager to compound her financial support with her leadership capabilities as a passionate International Board of Directors Member. Marisa is confident that her enthusiasm for and pride in Polytechnic, paired with her keen understanding of the value of Alumni contributions, will make her an effective alumni leader and an asset to the school and Association.

Daniella Patrick ‘14 (term ending June 30, 2020)

 

Daniella graduated from NYU Tandon with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Mathematics. She works as a Digital Product Manager in Accenture’s Talent Innovation Lab, a creative team within HR focused on improving employees’ experience. Prior to Accenture, Daniella worked with several startups and innovation teams in product design, engineering, and business operations roles.  These include designing and engineering the Mercado wrestling headgear that helps protect competitors from head and facial injuries. Daniella’s passions include travel, dance and music.  As a S.T.E.M and gender equality advocate, Daniella volunteers as a guest-speaker and mentor any chance she gets: HBX Student Spotlight

While a student at NYU Poly, I was the president of the TRIO student board, helping to create a range learning and volunteering activities for TRIP students, President of the NYU Poly Open IDEO student chapter which among other thinges helped bring Poly's Greenhouse to life, and an active member of NSBE, SWE, and other engineering and student societies and chapters. I intend to leverage my experience and skills to help create and sustain a range of programs, benefits and services so appealing that alumni will seek to remain engaged with NYU Tandon and each other. Her hope is that through meaningful worldwide engagements and communication we will manage to create awareness, volunteer involvement, pride, active participation and philanthropic commitment to NYU Tandon.

Suman Sabastin ’08 (term ending June 30, 2020)

Suman T. Sabastin is a STEM educator and NYC FIRST Robotics and FIRST Lego League coach/mentor/volunteer/trainer with the NYC Department of Education for over 15 years. She is a proud and active member of various STEM-related organizations including IEEE, NSBE, NCTM, SWE, SHRM, ASTD, and Brooklyn Technical High School Alumni Association (Class of 1992, Mechanical Engineering). She worked for Girl Scouts USA National Headquarters as the STEM Project Manager, Technology and Engineering Initiatives instrumental in creating the first "Robotics" patch to engage girls in STEM career fields.

While pursuing her MS OB she was president of the PolySHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) and in collaboration with PolyNSBE and PolySWE, led the chapter to be recognized (under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Harold Kaufman) with the very first International SHRM chapter award for excellence in providing the student population with workforce guidance, mentorship and opportunities.

Ms. Sabastin also holds an MBA in Marketing Management and Consumer Behavior from Pace University and teaches entrepreneurship to high school students through PLTW (Project Lead The Way) initiative as well CollegeNow in CUNY campuses around the city. She has mentored hundreds of students at the high school and college levels, promoting not only a focus on technical aspects of engineering and other STEM careers but also the importance of ethics and integrity in the workplace. Most recently she has joined the Business Teachers Association of New York State to explore ways to attract and promote entrepreneurship in traditional academic curriculum. 

She founded STEMgurus, Inc., in 2013 to provide unique STEM exposure and mentorship for youth to make informed decisions on college/career choices. As a K-12 educator and as alum of both Brooklyn Technical High School and Polytechnic University, she has personally experienced the exemplar pipeline to talent acquisition for STEM fields and now is in a unique position to engage future STEM professionals, attracting them to higher education pathways which prepare them for global workforce readiness. Ms. Sabastin thanks her fellow alumni for the opportunity.

B. Jenny Chon '86 (term ending June 30, 2020)

B. Jenny Chon is a consulting actuary with CSB Associates, Inc. Jenny is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and also an Enrolled Actuary. Jenny has over 20 years of experience in actuarial consulting for retirement benefit plans with consulting firms including The Wyatt Company and Mercer as well as with insurance companies, MassMutual and Samsung Life.

Jenny led and managed consulting services, primarily to defined benefit plan sponsors, with respect to plan design, funding, accounting, government reporting, and administration. Jenny supervised the preparation of individual benefit calculations, annual actuarial valuations and government reporting that included interpretation of plan provisions, regulations, and standards; review of actuarial assumptions, reconciliation of census and financial data, funding and accounting valuation results and reports, and cash flow analysis; and delivery of client communications.

In 2006 to 2008, Jenny was abroad at Samsung Life Insurance located in Seoul, Korea. Jenny served as an advisory general manager and actuary leading the newly formed Corporate Pension Consulting unit. She trained pension professionals and actuaries on technical as well non-technical aspects of retirement benefits consulting services that included plan design, funding, accounting (IAS 19), administration, and communication. She also reviewed actuarial valuations, and funding and accounting reports. Additionally, she led the responses to proposals for consulting services and education requests about local retirement benefits for foreign-affiliated companies operating in South Korea, bridging cultural and informational gaps between local and regional offices or headquarters.

Philippe Adam '92 (term ending June 30, 2018)

Dr. Philippe Adam is an all-around senior strategy, business development and investment professional with 20+ years of global experience in technology and business, and with a track record of sourcing new investment opportunities, launching new business and helping companies grow. He has worked and consulted for a number of research labs, companies and firms including Caltech/NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab,

AlliedSignal/Honeywell, Houlihan Lokey, Avery Dennison, and Beckman Coulter. His experience also spans a variety of industries ranging from Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Cleantech and Healthcare/Medical Devices to Software, Wireless/RFID, Consumer Products/Electronics and Retail.

Dr. Adam is a currently Director of Business Analytics at Abbott Medical Optics, a division of Abbott Laboratories and leader in ophthalmology. He is also a Founder and General Partner of The Athenaeum Fund IV as well as a Special Limited Partner in the Athenaeum Fund III. He serves as an advisor to Maximillian Gallery, a start-up exploring new business models to monetize emerging art IP, and to Advanced TeleSensors, a start-up from Caltech/JPL commercializing a contactless vitals monitoring technology for consumer and health/medical applications.

Dr. Adam holds undegraduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mathematics from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, NY and he received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA. He also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Kokkalakis '92 (term ending June 30, 2018)

Michael Kokkalakis is currently Principal Chief Engineer with SiriusXM Satellite Radio. He has over 22 years’ experience in satellite and engineering operations. Mike would like to see more alumni in touch and involved with the school throughout their professional careers. Polytechnic University plays a key role in the engineering community in the NY region and he sees the Alumni Association as the center of that community.

Upon graduating from Polytechnic University, Mike spent five years with Lockheed Martin on the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) program. He helped established the satellite operations group at WorldSpace which launched the world’s first satellite radio service in 1998. For fourteen years at SiriusXM, Mike has been a key member of the space systems group that procured, launched and operated the fleet of satellites from the start of satellite radio in North America. Mike also holds an MS in Applied Physics from John Hopkins and a MS in Technology Management from Columbia University.

Nathan Rubin '14 (term ending June 30, 2018)

Nathan received his M.S in Organizational Behavior from NYU Tandon School of Engineering in May of 2014 after matriculating from Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN where he received his B.A. in Psychology (Class of 2012) and played four years of varsity baseball. Following a short contract position after graduation on-site at Goldman Sachs within their Learning and Development division (Goldman Sachs University), Nathan is now a Talent Management Analyst on the Executive Leadership Development Team at A.I.G (American Insurance Group).

Much of his responsibilities focus around designing and implementing A.I.G.’s annual Talent Review Process for their executive population, however he has recently begun to work on Executive Leadership Initiatives for women, and men of color.
Nathan credits much of his recent success to the excellent faculty and close-knit alumni family of NYU Tandon. He found that the alumni community was always willing to provide career advice and guidance, and refer him to a new professional connection. He hopes to be able to start to give back to the NYU Tandon community through his increased involvement with the PIAA in the upcoming months and years.

James Taylor '75 Heights (term ending June, 30 2018)

James A. Taylor has been employed at the IEEE since 1978. His current title is Lead Business Database Analyst II. His previous title was Manager of Information Processing. In these role he was responsible for the development of IEEE's legacy Conference Database System and is currently a member of the development team for the IEEE Conference Exchange.


He has experience as a Database Developer, Database Administrator, and Systems Programmer. He received a B.A. in Biology in 1971, and a M.S in Engineering in 1975 both from NYU.
He has two Certifications. One as a Association Executive (CAE), and the other as a Scrum Master (CSM). He is Life Senior Member of IEEE, and a Member of ACM.
He is an active alumni having served on the NYU Alumni Association Board and currently the NYU College of Arts and Science Alumni Board.

Howard Xia '86 '88 (term ending June 30, 2018)

Since he received his post graduate degrees from New York University Tandon School of Engineering (then Polytechnic University), Howard has been playing the roles of an engineer, a Corporate planner and a Corporate Executive for a few largest global Telecom operators over the last 25 years.

Howard joined the then most promising mobile industry through Pacific Telesis, and subsequently its spin-off AirTouch, even four months before he officially received his Ph.D. from Poly in January 1991. As an engineer with RF expertise, Howard had chances to participate in a few key events in the industry which include the analog to digital transition in the US, 2G deployment in Europe and Asia, and 2G and 3G standard setting. Some of his works over this period have been published in a few highly influential papers which include the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society's 1993 Neal Shepherd Award best paper.

After the Vodafone and AirTouch merger in 1999, Howard became a Director of the Vodafone Group Technology Strategy engaged in 3G strategy and planning, and the integration of the technology functions.

Howard was assigned to set up Vodafone’s presence in China in 2001 and had since managed its China operation and its strategic investment/divestment in China Mobile and the strategic partnership with China Mobile until 2014. He is fortunately to have a chance to witness and participate in the China’s explosive growth of mobile users to more than one billion, and even more exciting the rapid smart-phone penetration recently.
As part of the China job, Howard, together with the Vodafone appointed Non-Executive Director, attended the China Mobile Limited (CML) Board meetings as a non-voting member until the divestment happened in 2010. Howard had also sat on the Board of ASPire, a mobile Internet Joint Venture between China Mobile/Vodafone/Merrill Lynch/HP, from 2005 to 2014.

In April 2011, Howard joined the II-VI Incorporated Board as a Non-Executive Director and most recently chairs its Subsidiaries Committee. II-VI Inc., a NASDA listed company, is a vertically-integrated manufacturing company that creates and markets products for diversified markets including industrial manufacturing, military and aerospace, high-power electronics and telecommunications, and thermoelectronics applications.

Howard moved back to the US from China last November and plans to split his time evenly between his home in the East Coast (Boston) and the West Coast (San Francisco). Going forward, Howard is exploring ways to do things which are beneficial to his Alma Mater. Howard believes that his cross western/eastern cultures background and the cross management/engineering experience plus the listed company Board practice would allow him to contribute and add values to Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association Board especially at the time NYU is becoming more and more global.

Linda Weiser Friedman, Ph.D  '80   '83  (Term ending June 30, 2019)

  Linda Weiser Friedman is a professor in the department of Statistics and Computer Information Systems, Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College of the City University of New York, and on the doctoral faculties of the programs in Computer Science and Business at the Graduate Center of CUNY.  Linda is a prolific writer. Her work has appeared in scholarly journals and books; she also writes fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.  As she has advanced in her career, she takes a more holistic view of the profession and finds that her activities are less compartmentalized, tending to belong to and be part of a more unified whole. For example, she finds that teaching and service activities inform her research, and that she brings her research interests into curriculum design and classroom discussions. Some of her passions include interdisciplinary work, instructional technology, hybrid and online teaching, new technologies, educational policy, doctoral education, academic freedom and governance, nonprofit governance, social responsibility, humor and – of course – her students.

Linda has served as chair of her department, as associate dean of the business school, and on various university committees. Many of her course materials are publicly available on the web for anyone who wishes to use them.  She has volunteered for several nonprofit community organizations.
Linda holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research (1983) and an M.S. in Applied Statistics (1980), both from Polytechnic Institute  of New York (now NYU Tandon), as well as a B.A. in Statistics and Biology from Baruch College of the City University of New York.

 

 Dennis John '09 '11  (Term ending June 30, 2019)


Dennis John currently works on structural acoustics for the Department of the Navy. He has previously worked at Stryker Orthopaedics and General Dynamics Electric Boat. He learned early on that life does not always go as planned. After getting laid off in January 2015, Dennis decided to embrace the opportunity for time off. He spent the rest of the year backpacking through 17 countries in Europe & Asia. It did not stop there! He also visited National Parks through six states out west. The world is a wonderful place and sometimes we forget to embrace and experience life.

As a student researcher, he worked with Dr. Nikhil Gupta at the Composite Materials & Mechanics Laboratory and Dr. Peter S. Walker at the Laboratory for Orthopaedic Implant Design. He benefitted directly from the NYU merger with the opportunity to collaborate between NYU Poly (now NYU Tandon) and the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. His experience includes: composite material fabrication, materials science, mechanical testing, biomechanics, orthopaedics, and finite element analysis.His method for developing a 3D model of the knee for analysis was published as a textbook chapter.


During his time at NYU Poly, Dennis was very active on campus. He was head teaching assistant for General Engineering, treasurer for Navigators, and executive editor of the Polytechnic Reporter. He was also recognized as the Student Activities Senior of the Year in 2009. While working with the YES Center, he was able to work on a cause he was passionate about. He worked to make engineering education more accessible to women, minorities and the economically challenged of NYC. He engaged with many community groups around Brooklyn to increase interest in engineering.  He hopes to continue to work with other alumni to assure that affordability is not an issue for those who want to pursue a degree at Tandon. He sees it as a mission for Tandon to continue to develop into a research center that provides world class education to all, regardless of economic circumstances.

 

 Robert V. Jones '87 (Term ending June 30, 2019)

 Robert V. Jones is the founder of PReSafe Technologies and serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer. PReSafe Technologies is an emerging cyber security and operational security solution delivery company with an emphasis on protecting global digital assets supporting the nation, commercial business, critical infrastructure, and academic communities. Mr. Jones has more than 30 years of leadership and technology experience with increasing responsibility. In Feb 2014, the Government Technology Services Coalition (GTSC) at their annual award ceremony presented him with the Small Business Member of The Year Award. GTSC is a non-profit, non-partisan association of innovative, agile small and mid-sized company CEOs that create, develop, and implement solutions for the Federal homeland and national security sector. After a rigorous evaluation, PReSafe Technologies was selected by the US Small Business Administration (SBA) as a participant in the SBA’s 8(a) Small Business Development Program late in 2014. The 8(a) Program, covering a term of 9 years, is an essential instrument for helping entrepreneurs gain access to the economic mainstream of American society by enabling them to gain a foothold in government contracting. Prior to founding PReSafe Technologies.

Mr. Jones was Staff Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations with IEEE, Inc. (Inst. of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). There he led the architecture and IT service delivery across the organization for both enterprise infrastructure and ecommerce infrastructure with revenue from online subscription services approaching $200M annually. His direct responsibilities included cyber security strategy and implementation among others. Of notable achievement, he led his team to create and introduce a unique messaging service with innovative virus detection and SPAM management features to facilitate safer Internet communication for IEEE members. More than 100k IEEE members subscribed driving a volume of over 360M messages processed annually making it one of the most popular IEEE member benefits for some time. He has also held leadership positions of increasing responsibility at Brookhaven National Laboratory; Merck, Inc.; and Mars, Inc.

Mr. Jones holds a Master of Science from Polytechnic University (now NYU Tandon) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN both in Electrical Engineering. He was among 145 students nationwide PReSafe Technologies, LLC P.O. Box 5872 Somerset, NJ 08875 www.PReSafetech.com named a full fellow by the National GEM Consortium to pursue graduate studies in engineering. Mr. Jones completed executive education programs including Leadership and Team Effectiveness at Yale University School of Management and Delivering Information Services at Harvard Business School. He is designated a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC)2 ®. The Network Journal Magazine presented Mr. Jones with the 40 Under 40 Dynamic Achievers Award in 2003. He is a member of the International Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 ® , the IEEE, InfraGard and GTSC, where he has served two terms as a Steering Committee member. Mr. Jones is a past member of the Security Industry Association (SIA); the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group (GPSEG), where he served the Technology Subgroup as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee; and the Anti Phishing Working Group (APWG). Mr. Jones shares his volunteer and philanthropic support with organization focused on alleviating hunger in his community including the Franklin Food Bank and Elijah’s Promises. 

 

Eric Levenstein ’06 ’08 ’10 (Term ending June 30, 2020)

Eric Levenstein is the Information Security Project Lead for Advanced Metering Infrastructure at Consolidated Edison, working on the upcoming Smart Meter rollout. He was previously a Computer Engineer at the Department of Defense, focusing on Chemical-Biological Alerting and Reporting Systems. Eric performs both technical and business functions, for each of which he utilizes knowledge and skills gained at the NYU School of Engineering as both a student and as a member of multiple clubs/committees.

Eric continues to be involved in School and Alumni activities, currently serving as a reelected Executive Officer on the Alumni Association. Eric hopes to continue his involvement with the PAA in any capacity where he can provide value to the School, Students, and Alumni during ongoing transitions and growth

 

 Konstantinos (Gus) Maimis '84 CE (Term ending June 30, 2019)


 Mr. Maimis brings close to 30 years of construction experience to his position as Senior Vice President and North East Territory Manager of STV’s Construction Management Division is responsible for the oversight of numerous successfully executed and completed projects for higher education, healthcare, transportation centers, multi-tenant housing, and commercial clients. As Project Executive on the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, his responsibilities involved the oversight and management of all construction activities including scheduling and project finance for this most prestigious project other responsibilities involved the preconstruction and procurement phases.

Prior to coming to STV Construction, Mr. Maimis as founder and president of his construction management and general contracting firm, MKG Construction & Consulting, Inc. through the firms client first mentality was responsible for its growth and expansion over a 10 plus year span. Mr. Maimis is on the Board of Directors of the Huntington Townwide Fund, the Board of Governors for the New York Building Foundation as well as serving as Director on the National Board of The Construction Management Association of America.  He is a Visiting Professor at Pratt’s School of Architecture, Adjunct Faculty at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate and a guest lecturer at Columbia University’s school of engineering. He is on the industry advisory boards of NYU Tandon and NYU Schack Real Estate Institute. He is a contributing member of The New York Building Congress higher educational and public building committees, US Green Building Council as well as The Urban Green Council. Mr. Maimis holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York (now NYU Tandon) and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University.

 

 Robert (Bob) Migliore '87 EE (Term ending June 30, 2019)

  Robert (Bob) Migliore is a seasoned engineer. After receiving his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University (now NYU Tandon) in 1987. Bob worked on defense projects (Submarine communications and Aegis Combat Systems) before working in the Pharmaceutical Industry at AstraZeneca, Pharmacia, Schering-Plough, BMS and currently with Celgene in roles including validation; new product introduction and technology assessment; regulatory compliance; quality oversight; capital planning and execution. Bob is a licensed Professional Engineer, a Scrum Master, and certified in ITIL. Additionally, Bob is a member of IEEE. Bob served on the PIAA International Board of Directors in 2010 and was an active member on the Bylaws Committee. He, and his wife Karen, live in Fanwood, New Jersey and have two children.
