The Computer Science and Engineering Department of the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a Tenure Track Faculty position.

Industry Professor Position

New York University is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering has the distinct history of having been known previously as Brooklyn Poly and the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering. The Computer Science and Engineering Department of the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invite applications for an Industry Faculty position, at either the assistant, associate, or full levels, depending on experience. An Industry Professor's primary role is teaching, although the position may also entail some administrative work and community building. The successful candidate will teach both at the undergraduate and master's levels. Industry Professors are multi-year non-tenured positions.

The Computer Science and Engineering Department has 28 faculty members, including both tenure-track faculty and industrial professors. It has a very active Ph.D. and research program, with about $4 million in research expenditures each year. The Department has approximately 600 master students and approximately 300 undergraduate students. The Department's research strengths include cyber security, big data and visualization, game engineering, and computer science theory.

The position requires an MS in computer science or a highly related background, with several years of teaching experience in a US university. A Ph.D. is preferred. Outstanding teaching skills are desired, with expertise in operating systems, distributed systems, and/or computer security. Industry experience is also desirable but not mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach systems focused courses. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and expertise.
